"Fresh from powering through Europe on tour with Sisters of Mercy, Ulterior return with the double A side ‘Sister Speed/Aporia’. They have still kept hold of their uncompromising G&R meets Suicide rock style but it has evolved, grown teeth, to become a slick, deadly dark pop beast. Exhibit A is 'Sister Speed', a careering instant rock classic with crunching guitars and rumbling bass. Ballad 'Aporia' casts light on the bands ability to channel deep emotion into song, singer Honey’s voice laid bare over chemical-buzz synths. As the song progresses it increases in intensity with every reverb drenched hit of the snare drum: clocking in at over 6 minutes, it defines the word ‘epic’."
